General Aerial Operation Suspended Today

The scheduled general aerial operation, against painted apple moth, started at 6.25am this morning and was suspended at
9.20am - Wednesday, 18 February 2004 – due to high winds.
Over 60% of the total area was treated today and Motions/Meola Creek, Riverpark and Hobsonville were completed before
the operation stopped between 8.00am and 9.00am for children walking to school. Treatment did not resume after the
school break. The aircraft remained on the ground while wind speeds were monitored and until a final decision was made
to suspend the operation.
Weather conditions are being closely monitored and the operation will resume tomorrow or on the next suitable day to
complete Waikumete Cemetery and to treat Ranui/Swanson.
