MEDIA RELEASE
Proposed Changes to Council Structure, Topic of Public Meeting
When the Local Electoral Amendment Act 2002 changed the law, it gave the Christchurch City Council the option of carrying out an electoral review. The Council has decided to carry out a review for the 2004 elections.
You are invited to have your say on whether you agree with the Council’s proposed changes to your Council’s structure.
A public meeting to offer information about the proposed changes will be held on Thursday 2 October at the Linwood Community Arts Centre at 7.00pm. This meeting is in response to requests from the community for more information.
The public has until October 14 to make submissions on the review.
Information packs are available from the Civic Offices in Tuam Street, Council Service Centres and online at http://www.ccc.govt.nz/HaveYourSay/RepresentationReview/
