Teens Wanted for Extreme Outdoor Adventures!
Looking for something fun and exciting to do outdoors these holidays? How about testing your mountain biking skills on
off-road tracks? Could you survive in the bush, or spend a day caving?
Get active and outdoors with Council's Manukau on the Move team. The highly popular TEEN EXTREME programme for 12 to 16
year olds offers a huge range of fun and affordable activities.
The Teen Extreme Programme runs from 14-18 July and takes teenagers mountain biking at Woodhill Forest, rock climbing
and abseiling, using their wits to survive the bush challenge and caving in an underground maze. There's also a day at
Chosen Valley which includes a flying fox, confidence course and archery. These full day adventures are only $40 per day
or $175 for the whole week.
Programme co-ordinator, Judith Harris, says "The programme will suit enthusiastic teenagers who are keen to take up the
challenge of the many outdoor activities we've got planned. Just because it's winter, it doesn't mean staying inside
watching television or playing computer games is the only activity available for kids."
The Manukau on the Move team provides all the specialist equipment and qualified instruction is provided. Extra $15 for
bike hire on the mountain biking day. Pick ups from the Howick Recreation Centre or Allan Brewster Centre in Papatoetoe.
Interested kids and parents should phone 274 6904 for more information and registration details.
