Too much wind and forecasted showers means no targeted aerial spraying against the painted apple moth today in west Auckland. However, tomorrow looks brighter so a decision will be made at 4.30am Saturday morning on whether to go ahead.
The aerial spray zone covers some 600 hectares and affects 3,000 residential and business properties in parts of Te Atatu, Glendene, Kelston, Waterview, the Avondale Peninsula. Low lying land alongside the north western motorway and the Waikumete Cemetery will also sprayed.
