Published: Thu 7 Jun 2001 11:21 AM
Hutt City chief executive Rik Hart has announced the appointment of Kim Kelly, a director with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, to the new position of General Manager, Strategic Development Group.
The Strategic Development Group is responsible for developing sustainable economic development strategies and ensuring the coordination of policy advice coming from the various groups within council.
“If we are to lead Hutt City confidently in to the future we need robust, coordinated and strategic policy advice linked to rigorous and efficient implementation programmes.
“All the good ideas in the world will count for nothing unless we can link with key stakeholders and get our programmes up and running,” said Rik Hart.
“Kim brings a wealth of experience to council in the business and strategic planning, customer relationship management, strategic marketing and performance measurement areas gained from positions held in the public and private sectors.
“The challenges Hutt City faces in growing its industrial base, attracting new residents and encouraging more businesses to set up here are well known. Kim will play a pivotal role in leading the Group established to help deliver on Council’s vision that Hutt City is a great place to live, work and play.”
Kim Kelly’s work experience includes eight years at Cap Gemini Ernst & Young. Prior to this she held positions at Wellington Area Health Board and Toyota New Zealand.
Kim has a long association with Hutt City. She lived here for nearly 25 years, and attended Taita College. Her children attended schools in the Valley.
