All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The Situation: A trough of low pressure in the eastern Tasman Sea
is slow moving along with an anticyclone east of the country.
And now the forecast to midnight tonight:
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL PENINSULA, WAIKATO, WAITOMO,
TAUMARANUI, TARANAKI, BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA, TAUPO, TAIHAPE,
WANGANUI and MANAWATU: A fine day ahead in most places but becoming
rather cloudy in the west from Waikato to Manawatu by afternoon.
North to northeast breezes.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY, WAIRARAPA: Fine and mild with areas of high
cloud. Breezy north to northwest winds.
WELLINGTON: Cloudy at times with gusty northerlies.
NELSON: Cloudy periods. Some patchy drizzle developing towards
evening. Northerly winds.
BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Rain over Fiordland spreading as
far as Westport later today. Further north a few drizzle areas
in the evening. Northeast breezes.
MARLBOROUGH, CANTERBURY and OTAGO: A rather cloudy day with middle
and high layer cloud thickening slowly as the day progresses. North
to northeast winds.
SOUTHLAND: Cloudy skies. Rain developing about the western ranges
late in the day. Not much wind.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: Mostly cloudy with westerly breezes.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Drizzly rain in the north and west of
both islands. A mix of cloudy and fine periods elsewhere. At
the Chatham’s cloudy but dry.
