Short Forecast valid to midnight tonight:
The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau and Bay of Plenty: Showers and fine periods. Skies gradually clearing from the south in the afternoon and evening. Tomorrow, mainly fine apart from a few cloudy periods from Northland to Coromandel Peninsula.
Gisborne and Hawkes Bay: Long fine periods but a few showers also Likely.
Wairarapa and Wellington, also coastal Marlborough: Cloudy with showers. Fine spells increasing from the south later today. Tomorrow, remaining showers clearing and becoming mainly fine.
Nelson, inland areas of Marlborough, also for the South Island west coast: Mostly fine weather.
Canterbury, Otago and inland Southland: Fine or becoming fine in most places today. Frosty inland tonight and fine again tomorrow.
Coastal Southland and Stewart Island: A few light showers clearing today. Mainly fine tomorrow apart from a few cloudy periods.
Chatham Islands: Rain at times easing to showers tomorrow.
