Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow.

In the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Taranaki then down to Wellington, also for the central high country: Cloudy periods developing. A few light showers likely tonight. Tomorrow, showery with snow to the central high country from evening.

For Bay of Plenty: Fine for the remainder of today. Showers developing tomorrow.

from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Fine this evening. Showers and southerlies developing in Wairarapa overnight. Showers spread north tomorrow with snow to the main ranges after dark.

Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury: Showers and southwesterlies spread north later reaching Marlborough late tonight. Tomorrow, showery and becoming colder with snow to the alps and main ranges.

South Island west coast: Showers this evening. Rain setting in south of the glaciers tonight with snow lowering about the mountains of Fiordland. Tomorrow, showery with snow to the Fiordland mountains.

Otago and Southland: Showery for the remainder of today. Becoming very cold tonight with snow to low levels overnight. Tomorrow, showery and cold with some sleet and snow to low levels.

Chatham Islands: A few showers this evening. A period of rain tomorrow.
