Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow.

In the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Taranaki then down to Wellington, also for the central high country: Cloudy periods developing. A few light showers likely from evening. Tomorrow, showery with snow to the central high country from evening.

For Bay of Plenty: Fine today. Showers developing tomorrow.

from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Fine today. Showers and southerlies developing in Wairarapa overnight. Showers spread north tomorrow with snow to the main ranges after dark.

Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury: Mainly fine today. A southwest change spreading into Canterbury this evening then further north tonight bringing showers. Tomorrow, showery and becoming colder with snow to the alps and main ranges.

South Island west coast: Showers working north this afternoon. Rain setting in south of the glaciers after dark with snow lowering about the mountains of Fiordland. Tomorrow, showery with snow to the Fiordland mountains.

Otago and Southland: A period of rain today then breaking to showers later. Tomorrow, showery and cold with some sleet and snow to low levels about the ranges.

Chatham Islands: A few showers today. A period of rain tomorrow.
