Now the All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The Situation: A low now lies east of the North Island. A ridge of high pressure moves onto the South Island today.
And now the forecast to midnight tonight:
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL PENINSULA, BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA, WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI, TARANAKI, TAIHAPE and TAUPO: Morning showers clearing and becoming fine apart from a few lingering showers about Northland. South to southwest winds.
WANGANUI and MANAWATU: Becoming fine after morning cloud clears. Westerly winds.
WELLINGTON: Morning cloud and the odd light shower clearing with southerlies dying out.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Cloudy at first with a few light showers about the coast. Becoming fine during the day with southwest breezes.
NELSON, BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Cloudy about Fiordland with a few light showers otherwise mainly fine. Southwest winds.
MARLBOROUGH, CANTERBURY and OTAGO: Areas of low cloud and drizzle patches about coastal Canterbury and Otago, elsewhere mainly fine and sunny. Light winds.
SOUTHLAND: Cloudy about the coast with a few light showers and west to southwest winds. Mainly fine inland with light winds.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: Cloudy with showers and cool southerlies.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Fine over the North Island and upper South Island with west to southwest breezes. Showers and cold southerlies developing in the far south however. At the Chathams, Showers and southerlies continue.
