Now the All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The Situation: A trough lies slow moving in the
central Tasman
Sea. A front associated with trough
should start affecting the
upper North Island tonight.
Another front is expected move on to
the South Island and
lie near Cook Strait by midnight tonight.
NORTHLAND and
AUCKLAND: Cloud increasing with rain developing
in
Northland from this evening. Northeasterly
breezes.
WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI and TARANAKI: Mainly
fine weather
but high cloud increasing from this
afternoon. Light winds.
COROMANDEL PENINSULA, BAY OF
PLENTY and ROTORUA: Fine weather
with light
winds.
TAUPO, WANGANUI, MANAWATU and TAIHAPE: Fine weather
but a few
cloudy periods at times. Light
winds.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Fine weather
with light
winds.
WELLINGTON: Mainly fine but cloud
periods increasing this
afternoon with one or two
showers developing from evening.
Northerly
breezes.
BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Cloudy with a
brief period of
rain this morning clearing from the
south this afternoon.
Southwesterly winds
developing.
NELSON and MARLBOROUGH: Fine weather but the
odd shower
developing tonight. Light winds with
southwesterly breezes
developing tonight.
CANTERBURY:
Fine and frosty at first with morning fog patches
and
light winds. A change this afternoon to cold southwesterly
winds with a few showers.
OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Cloudy
with scattered rain developing for
a time this morning
then easing to a few coastal showers this
afternoon and
becoming fine and frosty tonight. Southwesterly
breezes
developing for a time.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: Cloudy with
showers at times and brisk
westerly winds.
THE OUTLOOK
FOR TOMORROW: Rain about the north of the North
Island
but remaining mostly fine elsewhere. At the Chatham
Islands, showers and cold southwesterly
winds.
