Weather Workshop: Short forecast for NZ

Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight.

For the north and west of the North Island from Northland to
Manawatu, also for Bay of Plenty and Central Plateau: Showery
weather with one or two thunderstorms possible in the west.

In the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Rain about the ranges
spreading elsewhere at times from this afternoon. A change to
southerly winds and showers about Wairarapa tonight.

Wellington: Showers, some thundery, in the north spreading
to the city at times. A change tonight to colder southerly
winds with widespread showers.

Nelson: Showers clearing.

For the South Island west coast: Showers clearing from the
south during the day.

Marlborough and Canterbury: Showers and cold southerly winds
spreading north during the day with some snow about Canterbury
ranges to 400 metres.

For Otago and Southland: Wintery showers becoming widespread this
morning with snow lowering to 200 metres. Showers retreating
to the coast this evening and becoming fine and frosty inland.
Strong southwesterly winds about the coast easing.

For the Chatham Islands: Showery with strong northwesterly winds.
