Weather Workshop: Short Forecast

Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow.

For the north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for Bay of Plenty and Central Plateau: Further showery weather with one or two thunderstorms thru' until tomorrow night.

In the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Showers about the western ranges spreading elsewhere at times. Later tomorrow rain becoming widespread about Wairarapa with colder southerlies.

Wellington: Showers in the north spreading to the city at times. Tomorrow evening, rain becoming widespread with cold southerlies.

Nelson: Showers spreading from the western ranges today then tomorrow gradually clearing.

For the South Island west coast: Showery conditions today with a few thunderstorms. Overnight turning much colder south of the glaciers with snow about the ranges. Tomorrow showers gradually clearing from the south.

Marlborough and Canterbury: Showers about the Alps and western ranges with brief falls elsewhere until early tomorrow. During Wednesday cold southerlies working north with rain. Snow about Canterbury to 400 metres later.

For Otago and Southland: Outbreaks of rain in most places. Snow lowering to 300 metres overnight with sleet to near sea level for a time. Later tomorrow showers becoming scattered with the snow level rising.

For the Chatham Islands: Showery. Colder southwesterlies developing tomorrow.
