For the second day in a row, the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip continues by targeting overcrowded residential areas and neighborhoods, as the death toll rose to 13 citizens, including a 5-year-old girl and a 23-year-old woman, and 114 civilians were wounded.
Ministry of Health indicates the following:
MOH raised the state of preparedness and readiness in all hospitals, especially emergency departments, operations, intensive care units and ambulance stations.
The Israeli attacks focuses on targeting residential areas, which raised the number of victims among children, women and civilians, thus raised the critical injuries.
Medical staff in hospitals are working with the available and limited capabilities due to the Israeli siege that has been going for 15 years.
The pharmacological situation in the Ministry of Health is going through its lowest levels in years, as hospitals of the Ministry of Health are working with less than half of their capacity, with a shortage percentage of 40% in medications, 32% in medical supplies, and 60% in laboratory consumables.
The continued closure of the Beit Hanoun checkpoint in front of the movement of patients referred for treatment abroad is coincides with the Israeli occupation’s denying the entry of 24 x-ray devices, in addition, to spare parts for medical and diagnostic devices, which affects the medical staff's ability to perform their work in vital departments.
Due to the serious damage caused by the Israeli air strikes to the electrical station in the Gaza Strip, MoH countdown stopping health services within 72 hours, and that the coming hours are critical and difficult.
The power outage poses a serious threat to the work in vital departments, especially emergency departments, intensive care units, operations, hemodialysis departments, laboratories, nurseries, laundries, and oxygen systems.
Electricity outages will lead to the suspension of desalination plants, sewage pumps and water supply to homes, which may cause a severe health and humanitarian disaster.
The Ministry of Health announces the cessation of work in the outpatient clinics, and the scheduled surgeries to give the opportunity for the victims of the ongoing aggression.
The Ministry of Health calls on our partners from international governmental and non-governmental organizations to take committed action to help Palestinians in Gaza immediately meet their health needs.
