KaiNiue Food Festival in Paradise
Foodies with a passion for Pacific flavours and island paradise holidays need look no further than the KaiNiue Food
Festival, a food and wine extravaganza to be held on the relaxing island of Niue in November.
Festival attendees will enjoy Niue's unique flavours internationally crafted by some of New Zealand’s best chefs. The
three-day festival from 2 - 5 November includes daily events showcasing and celebrating Niue’s food and culture. These
events will include master cooking classes with Lou and Ant Bentley from Akaroa Cooking School matched with wonderful
wines from Invivo and Yealands, a gourmet lunch and gala dinner with menus specially created by talented New Zealand
guest chefs, Jeremy Rameka and Rex Morgan.
Napier’s Chef Jeremy Rameka from award winning restaurant Pacifica will be collaborating with Wellington’s Boulcott
Street Bistro gastronome Rex Morgan to bring together their culinary skills for the Welcome Drinks event, Lunch and Gala
Dinner. Top Kiwi chefs Ant and Lou Bentley from the Akaroa Cooking School will be holding master cooking classes at the
Scenic Matavai with Yealands and Invivo Wines providing the perfect wine matching for those events.
Visitors can also experience the true taste of Niue with a Traditional Niuean Feast on the first night or catch a
glimpse of Niuean life with an early morning trip to the local food market. Niue Tourism Chief Executive Felicity Bollen
says the festival promises to be an event to remember. “KaiNiue Food Festival will be a magical celebration of food and
wine that is not to be missed. We can’t wait to show off Niue’s Pacific flavours, our amazing island and unique culture,
but foodies need to book now because there are limited tickets to each event,” she says.
