Western Union Enables Fee-Free Money Transfers to Tonga in the Wake of Cyclone Gita
UNITED STATES, AUSTRALIA, NEW ZEALAND, FEBRUARY 22, 2018 – To support communities affected by Cyclone Gita, Western Union, a leader in cross border, cross currency money movement, has activated fee-free* money-transfers to Tonga from around the world.
Effective immediately and until March 31, 2018, Western Union’s service is available fee-free* when sending from select Western Union® Agent locations or through westernunion.com and the Western Union mobile app where available.
Cyclone Gita was classified as the worst cyclone to pass close to Tonga's main islands in 60 years causing wide-spread damage.
