Children in Yemen Stricken with Cholera And Weak with Hunger Are Dying by the Hundreds – And It's Getting Worse
Clean water, food and medicine: all are in shockingly short supply. And now, the Saudi government is blocking supplies
from entering the country.
As I write this, we know that at least 1,200 tons of food and medical supplies are delayed from Djibouti. Aid ships in the port of Hodeida have not been allowed to off-load, and at least three UN Humanitarian Air Assistance
flights have been delayed.
Before this blockade, CARE staff were already on the ground in Yemen, providing food, water, hygiene kits and other
desperately needed aid. Women and children are hit especially hard when lingering crises suddenly worsen, and it's our
steadfast commitment – as always – to make sure aid gets to the people who need it most, as quickly as it possibly can.
But responding to urgent threats like this strains our resources, so that's why I'm asking you to step up with an urgent gift today. For all the people who rely on CARE's lifesaving work, thank you for providing a lifeline to them each and every time
you give.
