Saudi Women Allowed to Drive
The Islamic Women’s Council of New Zealand congratulates the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the decision allowing women to drive.
We recognise and applaud the efforts of Saudi women who have been working hard for years to achieve this positive outcome. We thank the new leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia who have made this decision for the betterment of their society. Saudi women have a lot to offer and this will encourage them to take an increasing part in the development of their country.
The decision is wonderful progress, which acknowledges the freedom of movement and the active lives of women who lived at the time of Prophet Muhammad, may peace and blessings be upon him.
