Mexican Earthquake
Dear Friend
Just as our NPH team delivers much needed supplies to communities affected by Hurricane Irma, our hearts break once again.
This time from the destruction caused to our human family in Mexico.
After the 7.1 magnitude earthquake, our children at NPH Mexico are safe. However the risk is still high due to the damage the quake has caused to our buildings.
At our Miacatlan home, there is damage to: the dining hall, museum, kitchen, elementary and middle school.
In Cuernavaca there is damage to: our boys' dorm, volunteer housing. and secondary school.
Our children in Miacatlán are sleeping outside due to potential risk, until further evaluation on all buildings can be performed by civil engineers. School is suspended until further notice.
In the coming weeks and months we will be helping our NPH family and surrounding communities to recover from this disaster.
Us Kiwis know better than anyone the impact of earthquakes.
Friend, are you able to help our Mexican family in their time of need?
