Death of Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis
Press Statement
John Kerry
Secretary of State
Washington, DC
April 5, 2015
I extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of those on board the recent helicopter crash in Semenyih, Malaysia. Among those lost was Tan Sri Jamaluddin Jarjis, who spent 2009-2012 as Malaysia's envoy to the United States focused on taking our bilateral relationship to new levels of cooperation. Returning to Kuala Lumpur after completing his time as Ambassador, he remained a strong and effective advocate for our partnership. Tan Sri Jamaluddin's dedication will pay dividends for years to come as we continue to develop our joint efforts toward economic, security and educational growth. My thoughts and prayers are with all Malaysians at this very difficult time.
