Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees, and Migration Anne C. Richard will travel April 3-8 to Turkey and Jordan.

In Ankara, Turkey, Assistant Secretary Richard will meet with government officials and representatives of international and non-governmental organizations to discuss the humanitarian situation in Syria, as well as Turkish and U.S. efforts to provide assistance to 1.7 million refugees from Syria and the more than 200,000 refugees and asylum-seekers from other countries living in Turkey. In Istanbul, Assistant Secretary Richard will participate in a Syrian refugee roundtable and visit with refugees and U.S.-funded institutions that support them.

In Jordan, Assistant Secretary Richard will travel to Azraq Refugee Camp, which is home to more than 17,000 of the 627,000 refugees registered in Jordan. She will also meet with refugees, international and non-governmental humanitarian organizations providing assistance, and government officials.
