Expansion of the illegal settlement of Ma'aleh Adumim

Dr. Ashrawi on the expansion of the illegal settlement of Ma'aleh Adumim and the continued destruction of Palestinian homes in the Jordan Valley
PLO Executive Committee Member Dr. Hanan Ashrawi stated:
“In the strongest terms possible, we denounce Israel’s announcement to construct an additional 88 units in the illegal settlement of Ma’aleh Adumim. Furthermore, we condemn Israel’s continued efforts to demolish Palestinian homes in the Jordan Valley in spite of an order canceling the status of an army firing zone in the area.
Once again, by robbing the Palestinians of their land and resources and ethnically cleansing them from their homeland, the Israeli government is exposing its willful intentions of destroying the chances for a viable and independent Palestinian state and pursuing its unilateral and illegal establishment of ‘Greater Israel’ on all of historical Palestine.
Israel is in clear defiance of international law and consensus, and we call on all members of the international community, including the European Union and United States, to take immediate action to end Israel’s impunity, to hold Israel accountable with punitive measures and to support our multilateral efforts of resorting to all venues of international judicial accountability.”
