Ambassador Sung Kim Travel to Tokyo and Beijing

Special Representative for North Korea Policy Ambassador Sung Kim will travel to Japan and China January 26-30 for meetings with senior officials on North Korea policy. These will include a trilateral meeting in Tokyo between the United States, the Republic of Korea, and Japan. Ambassador Kim will be accompanied by Special Envoy for the Six-Party Talks Sydney Seiler and by Director for Korea at the National Security Council Allison Hooker.
Ambassador Kim will be in Tokyo on January 27-28 for a trilateral meeting with Japanese Director General for Asian and Oceanian Affairs Junichi Ihara and ROK Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Hwang Joon-kook. He will also hold bilateral meetings with both Director General Ihara and Special Representative Hwang.
He will then travel to Beijing on January 29 for meetings with senior Chinese Government officials, including Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Affairs Wu Dawei.
Ambassador Kim will return to Washington, D.C. on January 30.
