Hagel Meets With New Zealand’s Prime Minister
Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel met with New Zealand Prime Minister John Key at the Pentagon June 20 and extended his appreciation for New Zealand’s important contributions in Afghanistan, according to a statement issued June 20 by Pentagon press secretary Navy Rear Admiral John Kirby.
During his visit to the United States, Key also met with President Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry.
Hagel expressed enthusiasm for the renewed growth in U.S.–New Zealand defense engagements, Kirby added in his statement.
