Putin calls with President of Kazakhstan, Belarus

Vladimir Putin had telephone conversations with President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev and President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

The leaders discussed the development of the crisis in Ukraine, which is creating a real threat to the lives and legal interests of the Russian-speaking population, first and foremost in Crimea and the eastern regions of the country. The current exacerbation of the social and political situation is causing great concern among Supreme Eurasian Economic Council member-states, including with regard to economic and humanitarian consequences. The heads of state agreed to maintain close communication.
