The Palestinian Government in Gaza held its weekly meeting No 328 and concluded with the following political statement:
Yarmouk Refugee Camp:
The Palestinian Government appreciates the recognition of the neutrality of the Yarmouk refugee camp in Syria reached a
few days ago by the fighting factions, and calls on all parties to faithfully abide by its terms so as to bring an end
to the unjust blockade of the camp that lasted for nearly 213 days, and led to the deaths by starvation of more than 106
Palestinian refugees.
Israeli Attacks on Gaza:
The Palestinian Government condemns the repeated Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip which targeted civilian and
resistance sites, and calls on the international community and the Egyptian mediator to intervene to stop Israel’s
growing terror against Gaza.
Palestinian Reconciliation:
The Palestinian Government applauds the efforts made by Hamas and Fatah in order to implement the reconciliation
agreement, and affirms its full readiness to work for the success of these efforts to serve the public interest. It
stresses the need to provide an appropriate atmosphere for the implementation of reconciliation in the West Bank by
stopping arrests and summonses.
Colonial Settlement:
The Palestinian Government condemns the Israeli decision approving the construction of 550 new housing units in east
Jerusalem, and calls on the international community to put an end to Israel’s abuses of land and people.
Storming of Al Aqsa Mosque:
The Government condemns the continuing raids of Al-Aqsa Mosque, and calls for Arabs and Muslims to act, and to break the
silence on what Israeli settlers are doing to the Holy City, and Al Aqsa Mosque in particular.
Britain's Position:
The Palestinian Government condemns Britain’s position in asking the Lebanese government to remove ‘occupied Palestine’
from the geography curriculum.
Islamic Bloc Sit-in:
The Palestinian Government supports the student wing of Hamas, the Islamic Bloc, and their now 33 day sit-into protest
the Palestinian Authority's security services’ detentions and summonses in the West Bank, and calls for maintaining
community freedoms.
