Prime Minister Gordon Darcy Lilo today met the Deputy Assistant Administrator and Deputy Regional Director for the UNDP
Asia-Pacific Bureau, Mr Nicholas Rosellini during a courtesy visit to the Prime Minister.
This came following the New York Headquarter of the UNDP approved the Organization’s new Strategic Framework which
focused on three pillars namely, Livelihoods, Governance and Building Resilience against Climate Change.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Lilo commended the UNDP for programmes implemented in Solomon Islands in Electoral
Reforms and Provincial Government Strengthening.
Mr Rosellini also commended Prime Minister Lilo for Solomon Islands support to the UNDP and has encouraged the Prime
Minister to further support the work of UNDP to bring sustainable development to Solomon Islands and the wider pacific
region.
Mr Rosellini was appointed as Deputy Assistant Administrator and Deputy Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Asia
and the Pacific in November 2011.
Since January 2009, he has served as the Deputy Regional Director based in the Asia-Pacific Regional Center in Bangkok.
Prior to that, Mr Rosellini served in a number of Asian and African countries in various positions for the UNDP.
Nicholas Rosellini holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in
Economics from Bristol University in UK.
