Families of Jordanian Prisoners Urge Government to Follow-Up

Families of Jordanian Prisoners Urge Government to Follow-up the File of Visits

[ 03/09/2013 - 12:25 PM ]

AMMAN, (PIC)-- Families of Jordanian prisoners on Monday visited Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the capital Amman to find out what the ministry has done regarding the follow-up of the agreement reached between their detained sons and Israeli prison administration.

Spokesman for the prisoners' families reported that they were surprised that the file has been transferred from an official to another at the Ministry, and that the officials did not have sufficient information about the case and the agreement.

He said the officials have not been informed about any progress in the necessary arrangements for the families' visits for the Israeli jails.

The Jordanian captives ended their hunger strike, which lasted 102 days, on August 11, 2013 in exchange for allowing family visits for them. The first visit was scheduled for the 27th of August, however till now no visits were held.
