Akwa Ibom SSG On the Run As 2015 Bubble Bursts

This, may be true of the Secretary of Akwa Ibom State Government, Umana Okon Umana. His whereabouts at the moment iss
unknown as armed policemen sealed off his office.
Reports from Uyo, the state capital, indicated that the whereabouts of the SSG is unknown as at press time. Umana last
week declared his interest to succeed Governor Godswill Akpabio in 2015, obviously against the run of play in the state.
He was a colleague of Akpabio in Obong Victor Attah's administration, where he held the finance portfolio.
The dramatic turn of event in Uyo, this Monday, came as a rude shock to die-hard Umana supporters who have been boosting
of taking over from Akpabio in 2015 as the anointed governorship aspirant.
If Umana is being hunted by the powers that be in the state, chances are more political drama will be unfolding in the
state.
Meanwhile, scores of armed anti riot policemen were said to have taken over the office of the SSG on the alleged orders
to seal it off and prevent him access to the office.
Political watchers in Uyo say the action is a reaction from ''higher powers'' in the state on Umana's open declaration
that he will contest the 2015 governorship in the state. He has been daring Eket Senatorial District to forget about the
top office in 2015. For those who know Umana better, they say he has a deep financial pocket that is deeper than some
states' in the country.
