4G Arrives At Mystery Creek For Fieldays

4g Arrives At Mystery Creek For Fieldays

Vodafone customers at Fieldays will enjoy a speed boost as the company switches on 4G – the world’s fastest mobile technology – at Mystery Creek Events Centre.  The company is also offering the chance to win a brand new Kubota RTV900 4x4, worth over $27,000 to visitors registering on its stand during the event.

Russell Stanners, CEO of Vodafone New Zealand, says the launch of a commercial 4G site at Mystery Creek is a major milestone for rural New Zealand.

“4G has captured customers’ imaginations, with over 60,000 customers now enjoying the benefits of 4G, only on Vodafone.  We’re proud to be the first to bring 4G to rural New Zealanders at Fieldays.”

Vodafone’s 4G network is up to 10 times faster than standard 3G services*, allowing customers to stream, download, upload, browse and game faster than ever before – and there are now well over 110,000 4G capable devices active on the Vodafone network.

Vodafone’s Rural Sector Sales Manager, Jeremy Anderson, says Vodafone is passionate about the rural sector and committed to bringing the very best technology and services to heartland New Zealand, through the Rural Broadband Initiative (RBI) and 4G.

“Our network roll-out across rural New Zealand is connecting more farmers and rural residents every day.  By the end of this month more than 100,000 addresses will have access to wireless broadband under the RBI.  We have built 43 new towers and upgraded 160 existing sites to deliver broadband to rural communities throughout New Zealand.

“In addition, we are trialling rural 4G technology, alongside urban 4G radio frequencies at Lake Brunner on the West Coast.  Together with our partners and our rural product suite, we aim to help transform the industry and ensure it remains a powerhouse of New Zealand growth.”

At Fieldays, Vodafone will be demonstrating some of its latest technologies and, with the help of its partners, showcasing the benefits these technologies deliver to the rural sector.

“Our partners will be offering advice on topics such as remote security, remote tracking and logistics, as well as livestock management and agribusiness applications. This is all about helping rural New Zealand access and make the most of the innovative tools available today.”

Alongside fantastic Fieldays offers on a range of rugged handsets and smartphones, customers interested in wireless broadband will benefit from an exclusive $49 installation offer.  Vodafone also has a Kubota

RTV 900 worth over $27K up for grabs, supplied by CB Norwood, and available to all those over 18 registering at Vodafone’s stand. The Samsung X-Cover II smartphone is designed to withstand most active outdoor lifestyles and is rated water and dust proof.  Customers who sign up to Vodafone’s Business Smart Data $60.86 plan or Consumer Smart Data $80 plan (for 24 months) at Fieldays will receive the Samsung X-Cover II or the 4G-capable HTC One SV free.

To experience the speed of 4G, Vodafone customers at Fieldays need a 4G-capable device with the latest software and a qualifying plan.   The device will seamlessly switch to Vodafone’s next fastest 3G speeds when customers leave the 4G coverage area.

Vodafone is exhibiting at Fieldays, site number M24 & M26.
