US NZ Forum Delegates Express Sorrow at Oklahoma Devastation
Delegates at the USNZ Pacific Partnership Forum meeting in Washington DC have expressed deep sorrow at the loss of life in the Oklahoma tornado.
“Our hearts go out to the people of Oklahoma,” said NZUS Executive Director Stephen Jacobi.
“At our meeting we have been mindful of the Canterbury earthquake which disrupted the last Forum meeting.  Now the people of Oklahoma are facing devastation and loss of extraordinary proportions.”
Mr Jacobi said the NZUS Council would make a donation to the recovery effort and, reflecting the support received from American friends at the time of the Canterbury earthquake, would seek further contributions from New Zealand Forum delegates.
