City's Cleansing Trucks Transformed with Poetry

City's Cleansing Trucks Transformed with Poetry

The City of Sydney’s cleansing trucks are being transformed into literary treasures this month, bringing poetry to life in unexpected locations to celebrate the Sydney Writers’ Festival.

Eleven trucks decorated with giant verses by famous poets, including W.B. Yeats and Judith Wright, will hit the streets next week.

Lord Mayor Clover Moore will be joined by the festival’s artistic director, Jemma Birrell to unveil four trucks from the fleet.

Contemporary Australian poet Martin Harrison will also be in attendance alongside the truck featuring his poem ‘Walking Back from the Dam’.
