APEC Trade Ministers Issue Statement
Surabaya, Indonesia, 21 Apr 2013 - APEC Trade Ministers concluded their meeting on Sunday in Surabaya by issuing a Statement that outlines collective solutions for addressing challenges that could impact the Asia-Pacific’s economic landscape.
The Statement considers the following specific
efforts based on a shared understanding of the current state
of the global economy:
Continuing Support for
the Multilateral Trading System
Continuing on Attaining the Bogor
Goals
Achieving Sustainable
Growth with Equity
Promoting
Connectivity
APEC Trade Ministers also issued a separate Standalone Statement: Strengthening the Multilateral Trading System Through Bali MC9. It describes APEC member economies’ continued support for the multilateral trading system, as embodied by the WTO, and their responsibility to make significant contribution to securing tangible results at the 9th WTO Ministerial Conference in Bali.
