Sri Lanka: A Youtube Presentation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
AHRC-VID-003-2013
March 27, 2013
A video presentation produced and published by the Asian Human Rights Commission
Sri Lanka: A Youtube Presentation On How The Executive Presidential System Destroyed The Bureaucratic Structure Of The State

The Asian Human Rights Commission presents a short documentary demonstrating as to how the executive presidential system created by the 1978 Constitution destroyed the bureaucratic structure of Sri Lanka and how the security apparatus organised under the Ministry of Defense has begun to control all aspects of society. The executive presidential system places the president in charge of everything and no on one in the public services has the independence to act outside the direct commands of the president. The result is that there is inefficiency, apathy and the resulting lack of anyone taking responsibility for anything.
