UFree Network, to defend the rights of Palestinian prisoners participates on Monday in the session to be held in Geneva by the UN 22nd Regular Session of the Human Rights Council to table some key Palestinian issues, the human rights situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, most importantly, with regard to the Palestinian prisoners and Israel's settlement activities.
UFree operations coordinator Khaled Waleed said the network is keen on internationalising the issue of the Palestinian prisoners, especially since Israel flouted all international laws and resolutions that protect the prisoners' rights.
Waleed stated that the network in coordination with the Swiss society "Rights for All" would organise a seinar on Tuesday aimed at raising the awareness of the Swiss street about the violations to which the Palestinian prisoners are exposed in Israel's jails.
UFree network look forward that the Human Rights Council will issue different resolutions that will pressure the occupation state of Israel thus it can end its human rights violations against prisoners. This includes the practises of torture, administrative detention, stopping arrest campaigns and abusing child and woman prisoners. This is in addition to improving the living conditions in prisoners and including releasing them.
