Secretariat of the Pacific Community - 42nd meeting of the Committee of Representatives of Governments and Administrations from 12 to 16 November 2012
The Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) will organise the 42nd meeting of the Committee of Representatives of Government and Administration (CRGA) from 12 to 16 November 2012 at its headquarters in Noumea. This annual event will allow representatives of SPC’s 26 member countries to meet, exchange ideas and make decisions about the future of the organisation.
CRGA is a committee of SPC’s governing body, the Conference of the Pacific Community, which meets every two years. In years that the Conference does not meet, CRGA is empowered to make decisions on SPC’s work programme and governance issues.
The 42nd session of CRGA will focus on strengthening relations across SPC’s divisions, the organisation’s new strategic plan for the 2013–2017 period, and its response to the recommendations made by the recent independent external review.
In this important year for SPC, which celebrated its 65th birthday, France will chair the meeting and Kiribati will be the vice-chair.
A press conference will take place on Monday 12th November, at 12.30 with Dr Jimmie Rodgers, SPC’s Director General, Richard Mann, SPC’s Deputy Director General, and the representative of France, Chairman, and Kiribati, Vice-Chairman.
