Romney's Policy on Latin America: Not Much to Look At
This article examines the likely consequences that a Romney White House would have on the United States' policy towards
Latin America. Based on his statements at the VFW convention and those articulated in his foreign policy white paper, it
is clear that Romney would seek to draw Latin America back to a time of U.S. hegemony in the region. His commentary is
needlessly belligerent and indicates he would do far more harm than his immediate predecessors.

An Interview with the President of the Republic of Paraguay, Dr. Federico Franco Gómez
On July 3, 2012, Peter Tase, a former Peace Corp volunteer and until recently a research fellow at the Washington-based
Council on Hemispheric Affairs, interviewed Dr. Federico Franco Gómez, the de facto and constitutional President of the
Republic of Paraguay, at the presidential palace in Asunción. The two discussed President Franco’s agenda for internal
reform and development, Paraguay’s foreign relations, and the critics of his ascension to the presidency. COHA is
publishing this interview as a contribution to the debate over how the inter-American community should resolve whether
the impeachment of President Fernando Lugo was of an extra-constitutional basis.
