Charles Tarbey Acquires Century 21 New Zealand
Charles Tarbey, Chairman and Owner of Century 21 Australia, has successfully acquired Century 21 New Zealand in a move that is expected to herald in a new era of innovation and closer trans-Tasman collaboration to the group.
"The acquisition will make the company an integral part of one of the Australasian region's largest and most diverse property groups and will lead to joint utilisation of state-of-the-art real estate technologies, education programs, events and marketing campaigns," said Charles Tarbey.
"Century 21 already has strong brand recognition and a successful team behind it in New Zealand. My aim is to build on these successes by bringing further resources and cutting-edge technologies to Century 21 agents, home buyers and investors in New Zealand."
The new strategy for the New Zealand market will involve increasing the company's focus on social media, general media engagement and the launching of new marketing initiatives. To this end, Century 21's successful 'Smarter Bolder Faster' campaign ads began screening on New Zealand televisions last week and aim to uniquely differentiate the brand and its agents.
Charles Tarbey has been a shareholder in Century 21 New Zealand in the past (most recently in 2006) and has a thorough understanding of the local business, market and network. He reached a Heads of Agreement to acquire the Master Franchise earlier this year.
"To keep delivering market leading service we also have to ensure that Century 21 has the best training and education programs in the field. Century 21 New Zealand will invest substantially into training for staff and agents to ensure that they continue to acquire the highest levels of skill, knowledge and expertise possible," continued Charles Tarbey.
"This multifold approach will see Century 21 New Zealand host a number of Australasian conventions as well as an international real estate management academy," said Charles Tarbey.
In December 2011, Charles Tarbey purchased the underlying assets of Wentworth Holdings (ASX: WWM), one of Australia's largest property management groups, and integrated the assets – some 8,000 property managements and associated property managers – with Century 21 Australia.
"Century 21 is one of the largest and most well-known property companies in the world. All new initiatives in New Zealand will be geared towards cementing the company's place as the first port of call for people looking to buy, sell or lease a property across the country," concluded Charles Tarbey.
Century 21 is the largest real estate network in the Asia Pacific region with over 3,000 offices.
