Efate Island, Vanuatu a New Hot Spot for Future Development
An island nation in the South Pacific Ocean, Vanuatu is known as the happiest country on earth, as designated by the United Nations in 2009.
Vanuatu (more precisely Port Vila on Efate) is the premiere Pacific financial centre for administration, management of offshore companies, trusts, banks, insurance companies and shipping registration. There are secure privacy provisions and Vanuatu has not signed any international tax treaties further ensuring confidentiality regarding business and investments. Vanuatu has no personal or corporate income taxes, estate or gift duties, no capital gains taxes and no exchange controls.
Capital growth opportunities are outstanding. The market in Vanuatu is waking up to international interest with a number of "executive-style" properties and businesses recently selling to foreign investors attracted to Vanuatu.
Coastal property including elevated locations with magnificent views over the islands, are heavily undervalued. There are seriously good investments to be had for both current and future use. Resort/business opportunities can provide a very healthy tax free investment opportunity.
A standout property just released for sale is Benjor Beach Club & Resort, located 12 minutes from town and 10 minutes from the International Airport. Benjor is also only 5 minutes from the Port Vila International Golf Course, Botanical Gardens, Hideaway Island and famous Cascades Waterfalls.
It comprises approximately 21 acres sub divided into 20 separate lots. The resort on Lot 2, land area of 42,962 m2, in a superb position boasts a 150 seat restaurant, pool, tennis court, putt putt golf course and 15 ocean view villas on approximately 300 metres of beachfront. Benjor is surrounded by lush tropical landscape and coral reefs abounding with fish and colourful sea creatures.
For sale at AUD$3.5 Million, Benjor Beach Club and Resort on Lot 2 has a positive cash flow and substantial land to further develop an International Hotel in the future, whilst the remaining lots are for sale by negotiation. Marketing the property, Carol Carter from Coldwell Banker Gold Coast Australia, says "future potential of this property is exceptional with many options for development whilst providing substantial income". Labour rates remain low, issues of maintaining your property are of little concern – in fact this is one of the secret delights of living in the islands!
Ranked in the world's top 10 dive sites, Million Dollar Point and USS Coolidge Wreck in Vanuatu are considered outstanding. There are several active volcanoes in Vanuatu, including easily accessible Yasur on Tanna Island.
Vanuatu is "coming of age" as a tourist destination and wonderful place to live. The South Pacific Forum was held in Port Vila, June 2012 with 600 delegates, a significant achievement. Tourism is on the move with International Hotel Chain Holiday Inn recently acquiring Le Meridien and Warwick Group owners of Le Lagon at the forefront.
