GAZA,(PIC)– The Palestinian government in Gaza has condemned the continued escalation of human rights violations in West
Bank especially after agreement on the Palestinian national reconciliation.
The government denounced in its statement on Tuesday evening these practices that aim to foil the reconciliation
efforts.
The government called on the reconciliation parties topped by Egypt to intervene immediately to stop the human rights
violations in the West Bank, pointing out that these violations were behind the Palestinian factional disagreement over
voter registration in Gaza.
The Government stated that the decision to hold municipal elections in the occupied West Bank reflects the PA’s monopoly
on power, stressing that such measures do not represent the Palestinian people because they are exercised without
national consensus in light of a systematic political and social suppression.
Meanwhile, the government praised the democratic process in Egypt and Libya, wishing security, stability and progress
for both of the two countries and all the people of the Arab nation.
Moreover, the government extended condolences to the MP Jamal Eskeik’s family and all the Palestinian Legislative
Council’s members and to the Palestinian people.
In addition, the government congratulated the prisoner Sarsak for his release from Israeli prisons following his heroic
hunger strike that lasted for 96 days in a row, stressing that the prisoners’ determination will achieve victory, and
pointing out that the Palestinian government in Gaza attaches great importance to the prisoners’ rights and freedom.
The statement announced that the working hours, during the month of Ramadan, start from eight o’clock in the morning
until two o’clock afternoon.
