A large number of released prisoners, agents and managers at the Ministry of Detainees’ Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works and Housing attended the ceremony.
Dr. AbuSebah expressed his happiness at laying the foundation stone for the housing project for the prisoners on land once raped, and now liberated thanks to the Palestinian resistance. He confirmed that this is the first step for prisoners to settle back into Palestinian society.
Dr. Atallah expressed his gratitude to the Islamic Republic of Iran and its Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ali Salihi, who donated two million dollars to build housing projects for released prisoners. He called on the Islamic and Arab nations to support and stand by the Palestinian people facing the Israeli occupation’s oppressive policies.
The Minister of Public Works and Housing confirmed that this project represents a message of pride and steadfastness in confronting the occupation’s policy that destroys, attacks, assassinates and steals lands while we are building and constructing our country. He also confirmed that this project is the fruit of the cooperation between his Ministry and the Ministry of Detainees’ Affairs for housing the released prisoners.
Salihi building (2) will be built in Alfardaws neighbourhood north of the Gaza Strip. The City of Alshaikh Khalif Bin Zaid Aal Nahyan will also be built for the released prisoners west of the city in AlZahraa on an area of 110 dunams. The building process will start in the coming few months, following agreement with the government of the United Arab Emirates.
