Abu Al-Amrin: The Occupation Delays Entry Of Fuel To Gaza For The Third Time
05/06/2012
GAZA, (PIC)-- Ahmad Abu al-Amrin, director of the information office at the energy authority in Gaza, said that the occupation authorities refused to allow the Qatari fuel shipment into Gaza for the third time in a row, under the pretext of "security reasons".
Abu al-Amrin told PIC in an exclusive statement on Tuesday: "The occupation should assume all responsibility for this delay and procrastination in the arrival of the Qatari fuel shipment, which may create crisis in the Gaza Strip. From the beginning we had called on the Egyptian side not to go along with the occupation's desires in allowing the fuel through Karam Abu Salem crossing, because that would enable the occupation to blackmail the people of Gaza. "
He revealed that the continued procrastination in allowing the Qatari fuel shipment into Gaza would increase the fuel crisis there, especially in the summer, a season in which power consumption doubles. In addition, he noted that this is the fourth or fifth time that the energy authority in Gaza receives promises.
The director of the information center in the energy authority demanded the Egyptian side and all bodies concerned to take immediate action by allowing the fuel through Rafah commercial crossing, and preventing the occupation from blackmailing people from Gaza and increasing its siege on the area.
It is noted that Qatar had recently donated 25 thousand tons of diesel fuel to Gaza's sole power plant, which operates by partial- power due to lack of fuel.
