Zionist jailers tie captive Lena to her bed despite her ill health

4 June 2012

Ramallah - The Palestinian female prisoners' dean Lena Jerboni has been recently transferred to Meir hospital, in the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, following the deterioration of her health, the Palestinian prisoners’ center revealed.

The female prisoners had threatened to launch a hunger strike to pressure the Israeli prison authority to transfer Jerboni to the hospital, suffering from a seriously deteriorated health due to the medical neglect in the occupation prison.

The prisoners Center stated that prisoner Jerboni suffers from acute inflammation of the gall bladder as well as a significant decrease of weight, about 20 kilos, and that she needs to undergo surgery as soon as possible.

The female prisoners' lawyer, Tagrid Jahshan, filed a complaint against the prison's doctor for neglecting and ill-treating the captive Lena, since he did not give her the appropriate medication and did not recommend for transferring her to the hospital, until the intervention of the officer in charge, which led to the deterioration of her health condition.

The Palestinian prisoners’ center asserted that in the hospital, the Zionist wardens bind Lena's hands and legs to the bed, despite her illness, which intensified her suffering.

Meanwhile, the Israeli prison administration refused to let any specialist doctor to examin Lena.
