Daglas: Settlers Have Formed Special Teams To Attack The Palestinians

NABLUS,(PIC)-- The official of West Bank settlements file, Ghassan Daglas, revealed that settlers have formed special armed groups to carry out organized attacks against the Palestinian civilians in the villages and towns throughout the West Bank.

There is a terrorist armed settlers' organization, in the light of their announcement about the formation of "protection groups" several weeks ago. Their mission is to protect the settlements, however in reality their mission is not to protect the settlements, but to murder and assault on Palestinian citizens and their properties, Daglas told Quds press, pointing out that each band has a particular activity such as burning trees, throwing stones, and other brutal attacks.

He added that settlers have stepped up their attacks on Palestinian farmers, and especially since Kadima joined the Likud in the occupation government. He also pointed out that this coalition, "gave a boost to the settlers, especially after the decisions taken by the Knesset to support settlements in the West Bank, and to expand settlements, and to legalize a number of illegal outposts.

He also said that the recent attacks of the settlers revealed clearly that the occupation government shares responsibility with the settlers in the attack on Palestinian civilians, which resulted in the injury of several Palestinian citizens and the burning of farmers' lands under protection of Israeli soldiers.

Daglas pointed out that the settlers' aggressions have been stepped up to shooting and intentional murder like what happened in Orif and Assira. He expected that the coming days will witness more settlers' attacks especially with the occupation authorities' expected decision to remove three outposts, adding that the recent settlers attacks are used by the settlers to pressure the occupation government.

He noted to West Bank settlements file where the number of settlers is rising, about half a million settlers are living in the occupied WB and Jerusalem, stating that this increase in settlers' numbers is an attempt to impose facts and strengthen their control on the land.

The Palestinian activist confirmed that the occupation government is in connection with the attacks carried out by settlers against unarmed Palestinian civilians, pointing out that 92 per cent of the Palestinian citizens' complaints have been closed without results.

Douglas stated that the Netanyahu government is "the government of settlements and settlers," adding that the Prime Minister, the Foreign Minister as well, 12 other members of Knesset and three ministers are living in settlements in the occupied West Bank.

In the same context, Daglas affirmed that the "protection committees" formed by Palestinian citizens in Palestinian towns are still working to include all Palestinian towns and villages, although they are targeted by the occupation forces, where the IOF arrested 37 members of the protection committees in Burin village during the past two weeks.

He noted that the Palestinian citizens are extremely angry and upset because of the escalation of attacks by settlers, warning of an explosion of a massive popular anger in the West Bank to stop these attacks.

Hassan Safadi is a young Palestinian who is in coma in Rafidia hospital in Nablus after he was shot by settlers which tied him and threw him on the ground in an agricultural area in a rural village in which Palestinian farmers are subjected to settlers' attacks.

Settlers had previously attacked the village of Assira al-Qibleyya where they shot on its residents, resulting in the injury of a young Palestinian man in his face.
