Palestinian Government provides $50,000 to support the development project of Burj Barajneh camp.


The cabinet Secretary said the Palestinian Government provides $50,000 to support a development project in Burj Barajneh – Lebanon. The cabinet secretary provided the amount on behalf of the Prime Minister and the government. He declared that the Palestinian government will support Palestinian refugees in all sectors until they return to their homeland, pointing out that the government bears the responsibility towards its people wherever they are.

Council of Ministers calls for exchange of experiences between the Palestinian and Lebanon government.

The Cabinet Secretary called for an exchange of experiences and training in the field of administrative and technology developments between the governments of Palestine and Lebanon. Dr. Ascol met Lebanese Minister of Administrative Development in Beirut and invited him to visit Gaza in order to enhance mutual cooperation and coordination between the two governments. They discussed ways of improving the work and performance of the government and the project of e-government and the process the employing it in governmental institutions and the public service, to improve the capacity of government staff. They discussed the conditions of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon and called on them to stay strong until they returned to their homeland.

Ministry of Culture documents violations of archeological sites by the Israeli occupation.

The Ministry of Culture issued a press release about violations of archeological sites in Palestine by the Israeli occupation, as a part of plane to raise the awareness. It aims to preserve the cultural heritage of Palestinian society and expose the occupation plans to erase Islamic and Palestinian history by building museums and synagogues on the ruins of Palestinian and Islamic monuments.

Ministry of Youth, Sports, and Culture sets a marathon, "Jerusalem is ours" and commemorates the 64th anniversary of Nakba.

The Prime Minister and the Minister of Sport participated in the marathon held to coincide with those in other Arab capitals, according to a decision of Ministers of Youth and Sports in response to the marathon of Israeli municipality. The message of the marathon is to emphasize that the Palestinian people are still steadfast and the Arab states support them. At the same time, the Ministry commemorated the 64th anniversary of Nakba and launched the campaign of "Million fingerprints to return" under the slogan "We Will Return."


Ministry of Labor held a work shop about implementing safety procedures in building projects and the future of the trainees.

The General Administration for Monitoring and Protecting workers held a workshop entitled 'Implementing safety procedures and professional health in construction projects.’ This is part of the Ministry’s efforts to protect the life of citizens and workers. It coordinated with all concerned parties to apply safety procedures and professional health in the construction industry.

Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology applying general policy of information security.

The Minister of Telecommunication and Information Technology passed instructions to apply the terms of the decisions of the Council of Ministers of the general policy of information security, and follow up implementation in order to protect the institutions in the field of information security.

Minister of detainees: ending solitary confinement is the first step in applying the agreement to end the hunger strike.

The Minister of Detainees affairs considered the decision of Israeli prison administration to transfer detainees in solitary confinement to Hadarim prison is the first step in applying the terms of the agreement to end the hunger strike. The agreement was signed between the senior leadership of the strike and the prison administration under the auspices of Egypt. He declared in a press statement that ending solitary confinement is the main demand of the detainees, for which they launched the strike, but it is not a sufficient measure of the extent of application of the Prison Service to the terms of the agreement.


Minister of Public Work and Housing signed an agreement with Qatar Charity.

The Minister of Public Work and Housing signed an agreement with a Qatar charity to build 75 house for poor and needy people in Gaza that is financed by the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf. They signed the agreement in Cairo, and the Minister praised the Qatar Charity's efforts in supporting the Palestinian people. He pointed out that the agreement is to complete the effort of cooperation between the Ministry and Qatar charity in order to alleviate the suffering of the poor and the needy children of the Gaza Strip.


The Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs: establish relations with Arab and foreign countries.

The Under-Secretary of Foreign Affairs praised the role of international solidarity delegations that visit Gaza, and confirmed that they play a great role in supporting the rights of the Palestinian people in getting rid of the occupation and restoring their usurped rights and establishing their independent state. He said during the governmental broadcast hour that hardly a week goes by without a convoy arriving, adding that the Ministry keeps contact with these delegations in terms of coordination and reception.

The Ministry of Detainees calls the families of detainees to update their data to resume the visiting program.

The Ministry of Detainees called on the families of detainees in Gaza to update their data in the Red Cross to resume the visiting program according to the agreement that took place between the senior leadership of detainees and the Israeli prison administration. The Ministry pointed out that the decision to resume visiting does not specify a timeframe, and is suspended until they complete the transfer of all detainees. The Ministry called on the Red Cross to speed up the process and to put pressure on the occupation in order to remove all the arguments and obstacles that might delay the resumption of visits.


Ministry of Women’s Affairs inaugurates "Safe family" program.

The Ministry of Women’s Affairs inaugurated a program for families in a series of projects, that a coalition of women's awareness carried out and the Ministry participated in for the third year. The Ministry held a series of training courses and programs titled ‘Towards family safety.’ The speakers stressed the importance of family and the enhancement of the role of Palestinian women.


Prime Minister praised Tunisia's position on the Palestinian people

The Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh affirmed the strong relation between Palestine and Tunisia, praising the Tunisian support for the Palestinian issue. At the same time, the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers met the Political Advisor of the Tunisian Government Lutfi Zaitoun in Tunisia and discussed with him common issues and detainees' affairs. He stressed the need to enhance joint cooperation between the two governments.

Government adopts $10,000 as an annual prize for the best electronic transformation of the Ministries and Government institutions

The Palestinian government decided to prepare a strategic plan for an electronic government project 2012-2015. It also adopted $10,000 as an annual prize to the best electronic transformation of the ministries and government institutions, in order to encourage creativity technology field.

The Egyptian authorities prevented the entrance into the Gaza Strip of businessmen participating in the conference "Prospects of investment in Palestine," therefore the Council of Ministers referred the case to the Committee of Economic Affairs to discuss the alternatives for holding the conference in Egypt by video conference.

Ministry of Detainees to honor the participants in the hunger strike in solidarity with detainees

The Ministry of Detainees is to hold a ceremony to honor all the participants in the hunger strike in solidarity with the detainees who struck for more than 29 days before it ended with the signing of an agreement and achieving the main demands of the detainees.

Palestinian Government issued a report about the main achievements in infrastructure during 2011

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers issued a report about the main achievements relating to infrastructure during 2011, pointing out the role of the government in reorganising the telecommunications and information technology sector and improving water and sanitation conditions. The report affirmed that the government will continue its role in developing infrastructure in Gaza Strip to provide better service to the citizens.

Labor Minister discussed Palestinian workers with Al-Razi office

The Minister of Labor discussed with the Al-Razi Office the processes and mechanism relating to the employment of Palestinian graduates and professionals in Libya. The Minister said that the Ministry of Labor encourages all interested parties to assist those who seek work opportunities outside of Palestine in order to minimize unemployment.

Minister of Women’s Affairs participates in the World Telecommunication and Information Technology Day 2012

The Minister of Women’s Affairs participated in a ceremony held by the IT College at the Islamic University in Gaza. The Minister speaks about the creative role of Palestinian women in all fields, pointing out that many Palestinian women get international awards in the field of IT.


Prime Minister received Ansar II and "Miles of Smiles 12"

The Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh received Ansar II and "Miles of Smiles 12," affirming the strong ties and relations between the Arab nations and the Palestinian nation. He praised the position of the Arab nations on the Palestinian issue, and its continuous support of Palestinians. Sheikh Amin Kurdi handed the Prime Minister a letter from the Lebanese Mufti Muhammad Rashid Qabbani, who confirmed Lebanon’s support for the Palestinian people, calling the Arab nations to line up behind the Palestinian cause. At the end of the meeting, the Prime Minister honoured the members of the convoy because of their role in enhancing the steadfastness of the Palestinian people in the face of the occupation.

Ministry of Justice to increase the number of judges

The Ministry of Justice organized a workshop to discuss the judiciary crisis due to a shortage in the number of judges. The workshop discussed the effects of this crisis on the work of judges, who suffer a lot because of the huge number of cases assigned to each judge.

Minister of Education received a delegation from Indonesia

The Ministry of Education affirmed that solidarity visits by delegations to the Gaza Strip are very important since they enhance the steadfastness of the Palestinian people. The Minister said that the Palestinian government and the Ministry of Education praised such visits because they have a positive impact on the Palestinian people.
