McCashin's Brewery Australia International Beer Awards Medal
McCashin's Brewery Australia International Beer Awards Medal
The brewers and staff at McCashin's Brewery will be celebrating this weekend with a few quiet KPAs after their medal haul at the Australian International Beer Awards. The Awards were announced in Melbourne on Thursday night and included five bronzes and one silver for McCashin's Brewery.
Andrew Murray, General Manager of McCashin's Brewery says "We are obviously delighted to be recognised by being awarded these medals given the quality of the competition. This will be a great launching platform for the Stoke Bomber Kiwi Pale Ale together with the Bohemian Ale which is scheduled to hit the shelves in Dan Murphy's stores Australia wide in the first week of June. We submitted the full range of our five Stoke Bomber 650ml variants and were surprised when they chose the KPA (Kiwi Pale Ale), given the trans Tasman rivalry between the Kiwis and the Aussies."
The Dan Murphys large format chain of
stores already sell Stoke Gold, Amber and Dark and Saxton
Cider the homebrand cider made by McCashin's for Woolworths
Australia.
"We are particularly proud that our beers that
won awards are exactly the the same batches as consumers can
pick up on the supermarket shelves so when they see a
sticker on the outside of one of our six packs saying its
and award winning beer, they know they are getting the same
quality and taste as the beer that actually won the
award."
Sprig & Fern will also be celebrating with a
silver and three bronze. The top of the South Island was
well represented at the awards with Marlborough Breweries
Moa, Renaissance and 8 Wired also featuring heavily in the
medal takings.
New Zealand's newest brewery, the Garage
Project of Wellington won the Trophy for the best speciality
beer and Croucher Brewing of Rotorua for their Pilsner.
Entries came from the USA, Argentinga, Czech Republic,
Spain, Belgium, China, Brazil, Mexico, Mongolia and Germany
to name a
few.
