The "Investment Forum" Asks For Explanation To Barring Entry Of Delegates

08/05/2012

CAIRO,(PIC)-- The "Investment Forum in Palestine" demanded from the Egyptian authorities to disclosure the real reasons behind barring Arab businessmen from entering Gaza and participating in the first investment conference which was supposed to start on Monday over two days but it was delayed until the delegation can enter to Gaza.

Khaled Al-Terani, the spokesman of "Investment Forum in Palestine", condemned the Egyptian authorities' obstructions of the delegation's visit to Gaza. The delegation, which includes 130 Arab businessmen, did not find any reasonable explanation for preventing it from traveling to the Palestinian territories.

Al-Terani confirmed, in a press release on Tuesday, that the Egyptian authorities "know that the "Investment Forum in Palestine" had coordinated with the concerned authorities days before arriving in Egypt, and there was no problem or objection to the entry of the delegation". He renewed the delegation's demand to disclose the real reasons behind this ban decision that retained the delegation's members including Arab MPs at the hotel, and restricted their freedom.

In the same context, the spokesman for the "Investment Forum in Palestine" had strongly criticized the Palestinian embassy's silence on preventing the delegation of businessmen from accessing the Gaza Strip, "we did not find any logical reason for the Palestinian embassy's fully ignoring the barring decision despite prior coordination with the embassy.
