Jihad Movement: the Occupation Decides to Execute Diab and Halahleh
07/05/2012
JININ,(PIC)-- The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine has considered the Israeli court refusal of the appeal submitted by the lawyer of the two detainees Bilal Diab and Thaer Halahleh, against their administrative detention as a decision to execute the two prisoners who have been on hunger strike for 71 days, after failing to break the prisoners' will and determination for the third month running.
The movement said in a statement that the occupation procrastination in dealing with the issue of Diab and Halahleh, who are leading the hunger strike, is a moral and humanitarian crime and the occupation government bears its consequences.
Jihad movement stressed that this decision will strengthen the detainees' determination and steadfastness to continue the strike till ending their administrative detention, calling on concerned authorities and humanitarian and human rights organizations to save the prisoners' lives.
For his part; the lawyer Jamil Khatib told PIC that the Zionist Supreme Court, the Israeli highest judicial body, rejected the appeal of the two detainees claiming that they constitute a threat to "Israel's security" according to security forces’ reports.
Khatib pointed out that the court "did not take into account the detainees' hunger strike since 70 days, claiming that the strike is not an excuse to end or reduce administrative detention of the detainees".
Khatib said that the court's decision has stopped all legal means to the two detainees, adding that it remains only the political ways to press on the occupation authorities to release the detainees and stop their suffering.
