Haniyeh Calls On Turkey To Support Prisoners' Issue


During a meeting with a Turkish and Egyptian delegation on Tuesday, Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh called on his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan to support Palestinian prisoners in their fight for their rights, emphasizing on the strong Egyptian-Palestinian relations.

During his meeting with the Turkish delegation, Haniyah praised the Turkish efforts and positions in support of the Palestinian people, pointing to the prisoners' suffering and to their open hunger strike, and delivering a letter to the Turkish PM Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan to work for the prisoners' release.

Haniyah has also met an Egyptian delegation from the Engineers Syndicate where he stressed on the important Egyptian role in the Palestinian issue, praising the Egyptian revolution and the role of the Egyptian people, wishing things will calm down and social stability will come to fruition.

He pointed to the Palestinian prisoners' hunger strike, calling on the Egyptian Syndicate and all Egyptians to support the prisoners' issue in all squares as they are defending the Ummah's dignity.

For his part, the engineer Omar Abdullah, head of the Engineers syndicate in Egypt, thanked the PM Haniyah for the warm welcome, saying that this first visit to Palestine will pave the way for more solidarity activities in support of the Palestinian people.
