Palestinian Female Prisoners Start Food Strike

Palestinian Female Prisoners Start Food Strike

Ahrar-Wledna
Wednesday 25 April 2012

Palestinian female prisoners in the Israeli occupation prison of Hasharoon, today started a food strike for two days, every week.

Ahmad el-Bitawi, of the Solidarity Establishment of Human Rights, said that the Palestinian women in the Hasharoon prison will begin an open-ended food strike in the coming days, if the Israeli occupation prison management does not listen to the prisoners and reply to the legal demands.

Our reporter said that two days ago Hasharoon prison management placed Lina Jarpooni in the isolation section in Ramlah, for refusing to end the strike she started nine days ago.

The management told the striking women that it would make them a good offer, but they should stop the strike first.

The women informed the management that the Prisoner Committee is the only party entitled to negotiate with prison management, and the demands of the women are the demands of all prisoners.

The detained women are Lina Jarpooni, Worood Qasem, Alaa el-Joo’be, Salwa Hassan, Inas Sa’eed, Islam Bshiti, Fatima Sidr, and Aphnan Ramadan.
